Scholarship Application

14th Annual Wardell Firefighters and First Responders Memorial Scholarship

 

The Wardell Firefighters and First Responders Memorial Scholarship will be presented to two community-minded North Pemiscot seniors.  This scholarship was created in memory of the Wardell Fire Department and First Responder members who have passed away.

In order to be considered for a Wardell Firefighters and First Responders Memorial Scholarship the following requirements must be met:

  • Must be a high school senior at North Pemiscot R-1.
  • Minimum 2.5 High School GPA
  • Completed scholarship application; provide two community leader references (may be a teacher, firefighter other than Wardell, clergy, law enforcement, etc., but one must be a non-school employee) and extracurricular activities by May 1st.

Scholarship amount:  $500 to be paid after 1st completed semester at any college or trade school, and $500 to be paid after completing the second consecutive semester at any college or trade school.  Funds will be paid directly to the student after receiving proof of passing grades maintaining full-time status (Passing 12 credit hours or vocation equivalency).

A committee of firefighters and first responders will choose the recipients of the scholarships.
